Fairfax

Project Category: AEM, Digital

What we delivered

Fairfax launched a major program of work around management of their digital content. Fairfax’s key driver was to centralize journalistic content between brands, streamline content sharing between digital brands, and provide user-friendly content editing to keep content on their digital masthead sites up to date with breaking news.

In 2014 the Lumos team was a key partner for Fairfax’s implementation of several key step-out sites including the Australian Financial Review and Traveller.

Our Approach

With previous knowledge of Fairfax’s content management system, Adobe AEM, the Lumos team were able to hit the ground running. The team joined several multi-disciplinary teams within the larger digital section. We worked closely with both the business stakeholders to ensure that we were creating things that truly mattered to the business, as well as working closely with the digital stakeholders to move forward core digital drivers for the business such as component re-use and 'commonisation'.

The Outcome

The Lumos team created re-usable components that allowed content editors to easily create and maintain content. We also created several frameworks which would subsequently be used on the next generation of step-out sites. These included a core article authoring framework, and an analytics and data layer framework for step-out sites, to provide campaign and usage data to the marketing and sales teams.
